EEVblog #742 - Why Electrolytic Capacitors Are Connected In Parallel

EEVblog

Why people recommend it

Dave Jones explains why designers use several electrolytic capacitors in parallel instead of one large one, mainly to lower ESR and spread the load.

In their words

A really good video from EEVBlog on factors for parallel capacitors:

EEVBlog did a nice job explaining similar situation (but with electrolythic capacitors):

Putting two of identical capacitors pairs seems redundant, it would make sense to use different values like Dave says.
